Joseph was the oldest of five children. He was the ideal older brother who looked after his siblings. Joseph took an interest in learning about history around the age of 11. He was an introvert who loved to read books and play computer games in his spare time. He would read and sometimes re-read books about WWII and world leaders. Joseph had a huge heart and often put himself last over taking care of others. His dream was to complete a higher education with a degree in Business and a minor in Political Science. He daydreamed of running for public office and servicing his community one day.
Joseph was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia at the age of 19. Two weeks later he passed away. Prior to his passing, Joseph vowed that if he got well he was going to help people with this disease, and we know he would have! We have established this Organization in hopes that we can fulfill Joseph's wish!
Like many families, caught up in life you think to yourself that something like this won't happen to you or your loved ones. We were one of those families and in an instant our lives changed forever. So, we vowed to do what we can to help in finding a cure for this terrible disease.
In 2022 the family participated in the Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Fundraiser for Team JoJo. The event brought so much warmth to our hearts that we made a vow to raise even more money in 2023 for Team JoJo, and we succeeded! We raised over $13,000.00, mostly from small donations! This year we hope to again exceed our 2023 totals. With your help we can make this happen! The JoJo project is run by the family members at zero cost. There are no administration, process, or hidden fees deducted from donations. Every Dollar raised will go to this cause! Every little bit helps, a one time or even a small monthly donation will go a long way in helping!
Our goal is to keep building the organization in hopes that we can grow to directly help Individuals and families who are battling this disease.
We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for supporting this cause in memory of our beloved Joseph!
Stay tuned for more details!
